World Peace, unattainable, do you agree?

Everyday I'm bombarded with different issues, whether it's capital punishment, abortion, the war, legalization of marijuana etc, all which totally depends on the opinions of another human being to be relevant, opinions based on the individual's moral understanding, which I think no two people share in entirety. I understand that we should be free to believe as we choose and that if one standard of morals we're set in stone for all to follow, we'd become much like Orwell's society or just machines following protocol without individuality. On the other hand, a completely lawless society would just bring chaos, as if we we're still living uncivilized in the jungles. I know that balance is key, but it seems like balance is just the bluntest end of a double headed sword opposed to the to extremes.That's why I believe peace on earth will never be attained, even with balance, strife and enmity would still exist and opinions would clash on minute and large scales. I can't live and not hope for the best for the future of humanity(which is why I'll continue to be the best person I possibly can and treat others the way I'd liked to be treated but it's becoming increasingly difficult to live in a world that's(from my point of view) uncaring, selfish and literally tearing itself apart. What do you think?
