Where can I find datasheets or specs for crosswalk signs?

I purchased two crosswalk signs with the hope of illuminating them. One is a hand/walking man combo, and the other is a double 7-segment numerical sign, in other words, one is the stop/walk sign, and the other tells you how long you have to cross. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find information on getting them up and running. They weren't particularly expensive, but I can't get a duplicate of either easily, so I'd like to avoid blowing them up.
